Now and again I see lonely old men as they sit in the park

Wild-eyed and waning, the moon starts to fade like a scar in the sky
How I look up above, the clouds are all grey, it’s gradual
I won’t accept that my ideals aren’t real, though it’s forced in my face
And my sins and regrets are sacred to me, its gradual

Time and again I let go of old friends, say goodbye again
As seasons progress, in a cycle of waves, so gradual
If I was just given a finite amount of words in a life,
Would I hold my breath? or consciously pay, it’s gradual
I miss the plains, and the badlands Alberta, whose canyons expose
Ancient old bones, its a past that remains, it’s gradual
